Adam helped me transition from a very specialized path, a PhD in medieval History, to a great job in the field of Effective Altruism, which is no easy feat. He lent me a very useful critical eye regarding my CVs and cover letters, and helped me think strategically about my skills in order to make my profile relevant to future employers. What makes Adam's coaching great is that he never forces anything on you, but his suggestions come off as naturally applicable and appropriate. He gave me concrete, practical tips that I think definitively made the difference and allowed me to be selected for my current job although it was highly competitive. He knows how to be nice and agreeable so that the sessions are always pleasant, while providing great advice, not hesitating to be frank when things don't look good and need a good rewrite. He has a great professional conscience and helped me even during last-minute things. He also showed real evidence that he believed in my ability to make this intimidating step of my career, and that played a big role in my confidence. I am looking forward to working again with Adam to hone my management skills!
